Dove Men: Don’t Use Women’s Shampoo

Hey Minions when was the last time you took a shower?!  (hahahahah JK)

I got to watch this hilarious commercial from DOVE just two days ago. They always make me laugh with their advertisement but this one was way to funny.

Diego (a man dressed in a shirt and tie behind his office) appears to work with this gorgeous Kate Middleton- like hair. The last thing you expect to see is a guy with awesome girly hair. One of his male co workers asked if he did something to his hair (it really looked like those slow motion effects that we are used to see in women’s shampoo advertisement)

Are guys allowed to have great hair? Well, according to Unilever's Dove, and agency Ogilvy & Mather Brasil, there are drawbacks to shiny, lustrous locks, as seen in this hilarious new commercial directed by Hungry Man's Carlao Busato.

This is why immediately runs to the closest store gets his new shampoo and washes his hair with Dove Men + Care because as the advertisement 'warns': "Women's shampoo is not made for you."

A friend of mine posted the video on Facebook (this is how I found out about this ad) and he was so irritated and sad in the same time. It is a very strange commercial I would say but please lets not do the 'We are offended thing' !

Whether you find it funny or not, try first to understand it. There is no reason for guys to feel offended or week that they have to change their shampoo to a more masculine one. Dove is trying to show us the difference between the way things are advertised towards women and towards man. Aren’t they right, isn’t there a reason why we have these man shampoos after all?

Personally I like the way they are playing with man and women desires, they are giving us a reason why to have a second kind of shampoos in our homes. They are creating market for their product and apparently they are doing well at marketing.

However they are making us talk (But don't forget even bad PR is PR indeed!)
So chill, this is just a funny parody at the end of the day :)

What about you fellows: Do you find it offensive or simply comical?
