Less is More

I have heard my mom saying that less is more. I feel the same when it comes to fashion essentials, those basic pieces that can be worn as the base of your outfit for different occasions.  Paying attention to such details in my opinion is the first step toward building an “immortal” wardrobe.

Honestly speaking, winter is not my favorite season (so good that February is halfway over); it is so cold out there and seems like we have some more time to play around with dressing tricks, warm layers, colors and fabrics.

To see what I mean, have a look below and check out my 10 style tips to spice up this winter’s wardrobe …

1.                                     Update your boyfriend jeans
Boyfriend jeans are all over the place nowadays. I was sharing one pair with my boyfriend until I got mines at Zara for a really on a good deal. They are extremely comfortable but not only, can you wear them in any occasion. Try to pair them with a fur coat, and you will see a completely cosmopolitan look, so modern and fancy in the same time.

                                     2. Snow white
I’ve always been obsessed with the idea that, wearing white clothes in winter was a big “No-No”. However now I find it interesting, I brightens up all the atmosphere that surrounds you, is easy to match, it is the new ‘black’.

3. Become bejeweled.
Bejeweled coats may cost a fortune, but this is what Vogue and all other magazines are talking about. There are so many DIY projects in YouTube that will inspire you to make your own personalized jackets. Don’t hesitate to add your blouse, coat, blazer a little sparkle... As Rihanna said shine bright as a diamond.

                        4. Who said colors come with spring was definitely wrong.
Incorporate your bright colors in your everyday outfits. I would go for a ‘pinky ‘mid skirt’, a girly warm knit sweater, or even a pop of color in a small clutch or shoes.

              5. Miniskirts are totally in.
If where you live is not warm enough don’t hesitate to buy some winterish leggings. Pick a warm sweater that fits your mini skirt and you are ready to go.

                         6 Day and Night
If you have a dress/ skirt / top that feel too sexy to be sleeping wear  but look presentable enough to wear in public, go ahead and wear them with your favorite coat /sweater/ jeans.

        7. Proportion play.
What am I talking about? In this blog pairing a mini skirt/short jeans with a long cardigan/coat gets an A+.

                    8. Wear plaid.
Running late for class? Living off caffeine? For all those days you should have a plaid shirt, your favorite denims and a white top as a plan b in any case. With or without purpose your messy look will turn to be very stylish (even if it’s not unintentional) .

9 What to pair leather with?!
Go for leather and tweed. This combination is the golden ratio of clothing. The tweed gives the very feminine impression while leather is nothing but tough. Sexy isn’t it?!

10                 The last but not least
Bring out of the drawers your fresh cozy pj, grab a mug of coffee/hot chocolate and watch some tutorials on YouTube in case you need some inspiration or have something in mind but don’t know how exactly to make  it!

.

I’m excited to continue the fashion fun with you guys. This is a blog in progress so if u have any suggestions please leave a comment below and I will be more than happy to work on it.
