April 13, 2014…. The secret guest designer, is not secret anymore !

 

Europe’s second largest clothing retailer  H&M (Hennes & Mauritz AB), is working with the famous designer  Alexander Wang I for its new collection. 

 “I am honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle,” Alexander Wang said.

Wang is known for his urban designs, and  I think this will be a nice experience for all of us. As far as I know this is the first time that the Swedish retailer works with an American designer. They started collaborating with such talented people in 2004, the first one was Karl Lagerfeld and later on Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo, Donatella Versace and Lanvin.

When asked why Wang this time? Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative advisor said:

“Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year,”

I don’t know about you girls but I am so excited and sad in the same time. Can you believe that we have to wait until November 6 to for the "Alexander Wang x H&M’’ to come out in stores and online. (the good thing is that they will distribute the collection in 250 stores and guys don’t get frustrated, the collection will feature clothing men as well.)
